Where Life Was Meant to End

from I by Markus Lappalainen

/

about

Where Life Was Meant to End is a story about two souls, connected by a tragic point in their lives. Both have been taken to the brink of taking their own lives. The song is a story of saving and having being saved, of paying the good forward.

lyrics

I wonder where I would be now,
had you not been on that bridge too
My broken heart was completely lost,
all without hope and out of moves

Open your heart and look at me
Life’s not as dark, as dark as it might seem
There’s so much more, much more for us to see,
So much more, so much more for us to feel
This is not the end

I guess the dust, the dust that I am
Had lost its way home, midst all the pain
My fading strength reached only so far
But there were you, my saving light

The raging waves so tempting
Would’ve been my lowly rest
The wind, the rain my final
and so cold embrace

Had it not been for you
Had you not been there too, in my night

Open your heart and look at me
Life’s not as dark, as dark as it might seem
There’s so much more, much more for us to see,
So much more, so much more for us to feel
This is not the end

Open your heart and look at me
Life’s not as dark, as dark as it might seem
There’s so much more, much more for us to see,
So much more, so much more for us to feel

Take my hand and come with me
I’ll take you home and we will share a life
Here’s not where it ends
This is something else
This is a new start.
